In 1947 Charles L. Burks started a one man operation in Western North Carolina with the philosophy of selling quality products combined with superior, reliable service. Through the years Burks Incorporated grew to an organization with 7 sales people, two warehouses and an area that covered the seven southeastern states.

In June 2008, Burks Incorporated was purchased by The M.F. Cachat Company.  This change was the result of the realization that the market has shifted and that in order to remain a viable supplier, distributors must combine their resources to meet the growing needs of suppliers and customers. Most importantly, Burks and The M.F. Cachat Company share the same vision and are both well respected distributors of raw materials and equipment to the Coatings, Adhesives, Ink, Rubber, and Plastics Industries.
